![]() See the full size photo here. When I heard about the photo friday contest being a panorama this week, I initially didn't think I had anything to contribute. My buddy Brian is very stoked about it though, and after seeing what he shot to enter, I remembered a series of shots I took when I was in Covington, KY a few years ago for an Overseas Brats gathering. This image was taken from the balcony of a hotel looking across the Ohio river at the city of Cincinnati. I took the photos with a good old fashioned film camera. I'm pretty sure it was my Pentax ME. I got prints made and had tried to place the pictures together in an album as a panorama, but of course photo albums aren't really suited for that sort of thing. Brian showed me some new bells and whistles in Photoshop CS which essentially make a panorama for you through some sort of software magic. I don't have CS, so I did this one the old fashioned way by scanning the prints, putting them in different layers, lining them up and then blending as best as I could with Photoshop 6. It worked much better than I had anticipated. I hope you will agree. This is my first attempt at a panorama and it will be my first submission to photo friday as well. Wish me luck. | |
