 These little circles with adjectives have popped up all over the place in Pensacola. I think they're supposed to be some sort of image campaign for the city. They're on these banners downtown and also on magnetic signs that people have on their cars. The funny part is, I saw one the other day on a car with Alabama license plates. If you think Pensacola is so 'glorious,' why don't you live here? There's a certain amount of irony in the vehicles that carry the signs too. I think a completely different meaning is imparted when you see a beat up old pick-up truck chugging down the street, spewing exhaust with a 'heroic' circle stuck to its backside. I'm not sure who's more heroic, the truck that keeps going through sheer force of, 'I think I can - I think I can' or the dude that patched it together enough to make it so. However, if he puts a 'beautiful' circle on the vehicle, I'm just going to have to remove it. | |
