Lots of changes going on at work right now. This view is typical of what the floor looks like in the control room lately. Last week, those cables all did important stuff. This week ..... who knows?

HD is coming to WEAR-TV very fast. It's not without some growing pains though.

A couple of months before we lost Winston, we brought home a friend for him. This is Wilbur.

I saw him in some pictures I was preparing for one of our newscasts and Anna and I went to meet him in person when the Humane Society was in Pet Smart. While we were there, the Humane Society folks and Wilbur both completely misrepresented him as a calm, mild mannered, laid back dog. He can be that at times. However, they failed to mention his Dog Gone Wild moments, which are often followed by an expression like the one you see here. Trust me when I tell you, he's not as innocent as he looks.

Here's a wide view of that car show on Palafox Street a couple of weekends ago. It really brought life to an otherwise dead stretch of street on a Saturday morning. The city has been sponsoring several new events like this lately including a farmer's market, concerts and movies alfresco at Palafox Pier. It's pretty cool and I hope there's more to come.

On a related cruising note, a funny thing happened at the drive-thru the other day. Anna and I were having a craving for little, square burgers so we stopped by our local Krystal.

Though yummy, the burgers are really small, so we decided to get a 12 sandwich sackful. I like cheese on mine and Anna likes them plain, so when the girl asked if I wanted cheese I replied, 'half with cheese, and half without.' To which she replied, and I'm not making this up, 'Which half?'

If I were Bill Engvall, I would have said, 'Here's your sign.' I hope she enjoys her long career at the Krystal drive-thru.

We lost Winston yesterday. After 18 happy years, his kidneys just couldn't keep up with the rest of him. He was a spunky little dog, though he didn't know about the little part.

R.I.P. Winston. You can bury all the socks you'd like to now.

With the arrival of spring and the end of school for another year, Henry decided to dance a jig though he'd had no formal training in the Irish art.

Here's another car from last weekend's car show in downtown Pensacola. It's both my favorite color and reminds me fondly of one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons, Speed Buggy. I thought it was appropriate for posting this Saturday morning. Have a great weekend.

I saw this old drive-in theater speaker hanging on the window of a car at the classic car show on Palafox Street yesterday. The speaker says Greenwood Drive-In Theater on it. I don't think that was a local place. It was cool to see this old relic hanging on a classic Corvette though. It was functional and of course he was playing some oldies through it.

A big welcome to Donna Lee Michas from New York, New York. She's the latest buddy map signer.

These little circles with adjectives have popped up all over the place in Pensacola. I think they're supposed to be some sort of image campaign for the city. They're on these banners downtown and also on magnetic signs that people have on their cars.

The funny part is, I saw one the other day on a car with Alabama license plates. If you think Pensacola is so 'glorious,' why don't you live here?

There's a certain amount of irony in the vehicles that carry the signs too. I think a completely different meaning is imparted when you see a beat up old pick-up truck chugging down the street, spewing exhaust with a 'heroic' circle stuck to its backside. I'm not sure who's more heroic, the truck that keeps going through sheer force of, 'I think I can - I think I can' or the dude that patched it together enough to make it so. However, if he puts a 'beautiful' circle on the vehicle, I'm just going to have to remove it.
